The 2017 world champion from Romania hit a 165kg front squat in training just two months after placing 4th at the 2018 WWC. Loredana originally placed 5th but due to the disqualification of Tzu-Chi Lin from Chinese Taipei she bumped up a spot.
Since the 2018 WWC Loredana has been pushing the strength work, also hitting a PR 200kg back squat just before the new year. She now has a front squat 25kg above the 64kg world record clean and jerk of 140kg held by China’s 4 time world champion and Olympic champion Deng Wei.
Loredana Toma is the 2017 World Champion in the 64kg class (109/128/237). She is a two time winner of the European Championships: 2017 (100/126/226 at 63kg), and 2018 (105/131/236 at 63kg). She also placed silver in the total at the European Championships twice in 2013 and 2014.
