Max Lang is one of the most well-known weightlifters in the world at the moment in large part due to his technique, of which his jerk is by far and away the most impressive. Max just hit an astonishingly heavy jerk of 210 kg, 4 kg above the 81 kg class world standard of 206 kg, in training.
This lift of 210 kg is 5 kg below his all-time personal best of 215 kg (shown below) which he hit just days before the 2018 World Championships in Ashgabat. You can watch Max’s full training session here. Max is an extremely efficient jerker when you compare his best with his squatting strength and cleaning strength. The heaviest squat videos that exist of Max include a 230 kg single, a 220 kg triple, and a 210 kg set of 5, all of which can be viewed on this progression video. Though the heaviest video of Max squatting is 230 kg, if we assume that he can squat 240 kg, his best jerk of 215 kg is still 90%.
