Lydia Valentin Receives Gold From London 2012

Spanish lifter Lydia Valentin has finally got her hands on her Olympic gold medal.

Valentin finished in fourth position at the competition but Svetlana Podobedova (Kazakhstan), Natalia Zabolotnaya (Russia) and Iryna Kulesha (Belarus) were all disqualified following retrospective anti-doping tests of samples taken in London.

Along with Valentin’s gold, silver and bronze medals have also now been awarded to Abeer Abdelrahman (Egypt) and Madias Nzesso (Cameroon)
