The deadline for submitting whereabouts information for the second quarter of 2019 is 31 March. This applies to all athletes in the International Registered Testing Pool (IRTP) – over 300 athletes.
Other athletes who want to take part in international competitions also have to submit whereabouts information, for two months prior to most competitions and three months leading up to the World Championships. Athletes may also have additional requirements imposed by national anti-doping agencies.
These rules led to over seventy athletes being unable to compete at the 2018 World Championships. Some of them claimed that they had technical problems while trying to submit their details at the last minute, so it would be wise for anyone who plans to compete internationally over the coming months to make sure they have everything done ahead of time.
If you are an international competitor, why not check everything now? If you know one, why not remind them?
