Lasha Talakhadze Goes 219 kg/ 255 kg at Georgian Nationals 2019

World record holder Lasha Talakhadze (+109 kg) competed at the Georgian National Championships last weekend, continuing his flurry of sensational meets and totals.

Weighing in at a prodigious 168.4 kg, the great Lasha Talakhadze snatched 219 kg, 1 kg under the heaviest snatch of all-time held by him, 1 kg over his current world record, and 3 kg over the heaviest weight that any other human has ever hit in competition.

Coupled with a 255 kg clean & jerk Lasha ended up totaling 474 kg, 4 kg under his all-time world record total of 478 kg. This 474 kg total is 1.5 kg heavier than the legendary Hossein Rezazadeh’s world record total of 472.5 kg from the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
