Lu Xiaojun Relives his 207kg World Record | WH Interview Part 2

10 years after his first world title in 2009 aged 25, Lu Xiaojun won the 2019 World championships. Despite pulling his back during the snatches, Lu went on to hit a competition personal record at 207kg to maintain his title as world champion and set new world records in the clean and jerk and total.

During my interview with Lu Xiaoujun late last year, I was fascinated by this lift: how it felt, whether his coach was happy for him to take the lift despite being in pain, and his continued improvements despite his age.

Please enjoy part two of the WH Lu Xioajun interview.

You can enjoy more Lu Xiaojun content exclusive to the Weightlifting House Patreon page, including unreleased segments of the podcast, and a full squat workout the day before the interview.

In recognition of a dominant peformance from Team China at 2019 Worlds, we have launched this new t-shirt. It features the "jia yo" chant that is often heard from Chinese supporters at major competitions.

We have added this blue version to the original red.
