There are reports that Tatiana Kashirina, the five-time women’s super heavyweight world champion, has been suspended pending the outcome of an anti-doping case against her.
Kashirina becomes the latest in a string of Russian athletes to be suspended following investigation of data from the Russian anti-doping laboratory by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
If the case against Kashirina is proven, it will not be her first anti-doping offence. In 2006, while competing as a junior, she was suspended for two years after testing positive for a prohibited substance.
