Olympic Qualification Extended to End of May

The IOC have agreed that the IWF can extend the qualification period for the Tokyo Olympic Games from the end of April 2021 to the end of May.

The change means that several postponed competitions that would have fallen outside of the qualification period will now be eligible as qualification events:

  • East Asian Championships
  • South-American, Ibero-American & OPEN Senior Championships
  • IWF Junior World Championships

The Junior World Championships will now be the final qualification competition before slots for Tokyo are decided.
