IWF Releases Final Lineup For Olympic Games

The IWF has released the final allocation of places for weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympic Games, due to start later this month.

This list takes into account anti-doping sanctions against Vietnam, Colombia and Turkey, which all had their quota of places reduced.

Two athletes from Russia feature but are listed as representing The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) rather than Russia itself. Following doping scandals, a Court for Arbitration in Sport decision allowed them to compete but not under a Russian flag and without the Russian National Anthem being played.

It is still unknown whether Chile’s Arley Mendez will be able to take his place, following a positive test for Cannabis in May.

There are seventy-four nations represented, plus one athlete representing the Refugee Team (EOR in the listings).

Three nations managed to qualify the maximum of eight athletes.

A list of qualifiers sorted by nations is available here.
